The 2010 Volkswagen Golf is a great little economy car with special touches to help it to perform better. Its sophisticated dynamics in the way it drives and its multilink rear suspension puts it above any of the compact cars out there but you add its body style to the distinctive look that the car possesses, the fact that it has a six speed manual transmission makes it even more of a delight to drive. The Golf has been the Rabbit for the last four years bringing back the original break in market name from the 1970's; however, this year we have returned to the sportier name and it fits the car to a tee. You can purchase this vehicle in either a four door or two door model that sports a hatchback which is a trademark of the vehicle. The longtime forerunner in this class of motor, the Golf doesn't look as if it will give up it's crown without a fight. Even though the engine is tiny, a five cylinder 2.5 liter joined with a four cylinder turbo diesel from Jetta it delivers pick up and go in a pinch with an estimated rate of 34 miles per gallon on a tank used in both highway and city driving. The vehicle is also available in diesel or gasoline. Of course the vehicle has always had a sport suspension which is standard on all of its models. The Golf TDI, premium package upgrade model, offers wonderful extras such as a navigational system for in town and long trips, a Dynaudio stereo sound system with auxiliary features for your iPOD or touchscreen phone and headlights with xenon. When going for extras you have plenty of options with the new 2010 Volkswagen Golf. After deciding how many doors you need, two or four with a hatchback as a standard feature, you may then opt for one of two different trims. After that decision is made you'll need to pick a color, would you like a Bluetooth? If so you will want the TDI over the base model. When you pick the premium car you get a sunroof, fog lights, alloy wheels, six CD changer, touch screen with choices of satellite radio and an interface for your iPOD, which may be the best accessory you'll ever get. The buyer may also chose what styles of seat will suit best, heated mirrors or not. The base car comes with a gasoline 2.5 liter engine, steel wheels, manually adjusting eight-way front seats in the sports car style, a 60/40 rear seat split folding, tilt steering wheel CD/MP3 player with eight speakers and an auxiliary audio jack. The cabin is tastefully done with high quality soft to the touch material making you comfortable and secure at the same time. The metallic trim ads to the sporty feel with emphasis on the excellence in style from the climate controls to the stereo all accessories are functional and easy to use. To add to its safety features the vehicle comes with standard antilock disc brakes, air bags on the front seat and side seat with a head curtain full length airbag in front. You can order optional rear air bags on the four door; but not on the two door. The four door vehicle had a safety rating of four stars with the addition of the rear air bags. The 2010 Volkswagen Golf drives with a sense of purpose and confidence can't be matched in any other compact hatchback. The vehicle stays solid and true at any speed. On the highway, the vehicle is unusually free of road noise, on those hilly roads turns are made precisely due to the balanced suspension and weighted steering. The gasoline powered engine has plenty of torque and is refined, but the turbo diesel is invaluable its fuel economy rating and strong torque at slow speeds.
